In today's world, ideas are a dime a dozen. Taking action and making a positive difference is the mission of Living Roots. This is a project for those excited about food and farming! For those passionate about healing the earth and creating a new model of local farming economies! For those who want to create abundance in the form of food and a fulfilling lifestyle! For those who want to be a part of a live-in farm, working with others and sharing community! To be the change you want to see in this world! If this sounds like you, we would love to have you on our team. Please read on and then send us your application for either a staff position or a student program.

What an example Living Roots Farm has made! We are showing that small, diversified, regenerative farms can feed the world! We are currently producing about 100,000 lbs of produce on about 5 acres. This produce is grown in the good old dirt, with very minimal outside inputs. The farm is also producing over 25,000 lbs of meat per year and over 45,000 eggs!

Living Roots Farm and Organic Farm School is located on a beautiful 75 acre property near Patoka Lake/French Lick/Paoli, IN. This historic farm has 3 barns, a farmhouse, a community center, good fencing, good soil, forest land, and beautiful rolling pastures. We have built three greenhouses, a Tiny House Village - 6 cabins (including an earthen clay-slip, earth bag dome), an earthship inspired home (in the works - not yet completed), an 1800 ft. deer fence, farm stand, outdoor kitchen, produce shed, building workshop, walk-in fridge, and earthen grow room. We are in the process of building more off-grid cabins (tiny home village), creating more gardens and orchards, and being creative in many other ways!

In addition to growing lots of produce, we also have chickens, cows, pigs, one goat, one dog, and two cats.

We operate a CSA and market farm and sell to an online farmers market, several on the ground farmers markets, a local coop, and a farm stop (farmers cooperative). We sell grass-fed beef, pastured pork, free range eggs, run an organic farm school, a farm apprenticeship program, and offer a variety of workshops.

This website is designed to paint a picture of what we are in the process of creating.  We hope that you enjoy this tour!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or feedback. We look forward to meeting you!
